Sexually Violent Predator under supervised release

A sex offender whose past behavior has led him to be labeled by police as a “Sexually Violent Predator” is on supervised release in Colorado Springs.

Daniel Lawrence Murphy will be on supervised release, parole, and has moved to an address in the Colorado Springs Police Department’s jurisdiction. Murphy is registered and residing at 3033 East Platte Avenue #302, Colorado Springs, CO 80907. Murphy is described as being a white male, 37 years old, 5’5″ tall, 180 lbs, with brown hair and hazel eyes.

Murphy’s criminal history reveals that he was convicted of Sex Abuse 1st Degree (Class D Felony)in 2000 in Suffolk County New York.

Murphy has also been convicted of harassment, forcible touching, and failure to register as a sex offender in New York and of failure to register as a sex offender in Colorado.

Murphy is one of ten “Sexually Violent Predators” currently registered with the Colorado Springs Police Department who reside in this community. The Colorado Springs Police Department says it is intent on insuring Murphy conducts himself in a lawful manner and that citizens remain safe and aware.
