Officers talked with the teen at Memorial Hospital around 11:30 Monday night.

The teenage victim says he was walking on Verde Drive near Fountain and Circle when a man came up to him asking for a cigarette.

When the victim said he didn’t have one, the suspect took out a gun and shot at the victim, hitting him in the leg.

The victim was treated and released for a non-life threatening gunshot wound.

The suspect was described as white male in his twenties, approximately 6’1″ to 6’2″ tall with a thin build.
