New Colorado Tourism Campaign Launches
Colorado has officially launched its new ?Come To Life? campaign, which focuses on exploration and adventure.
The campaign utilizes many scenic Colorado landscapes to advertise the state. Roger Miller, COO of the Manitou Springs Chamber of Commerce, said Colorado ?really hit this one on the head.?
?I think it expresses the beauty and splendor or Colorado. Anything we can do to get those folks from the flat-lands to see what they?re missing is obviously going to be a good campaign for all of us here,? Miller said.
Miller told KRDO Newschannel 13 that about 60 percent of Manitou Springs? revenues come from tourism, and said that tourism also produces about 70 percent of jobs in the city.
According to Chelsy Murphy of the Colorado Springs Convention and Visitor?s Bureau, tourism is the third largest employer for Colorado Springs and can save a family of four about $320 in taxes every year.
?Right now is a perfect time to launch this kind of campaign because people are planning and that?s when we want to get them,? said Murphy.
Colorado Springs has also launched their new campaign. Murphy said the two campaigns compliment each other very well.
?Come to life, being alive, living means doing, that?s what Colorado Springs is. So, to be able to be tied to that and have that be the state?s truth about what we are, we are just so excited to see that come together,? said Murphy.
The state?s campaign can be seen in Dallas, Phoenix and Chicago.
