Lawmakers Consider Suspending State Sales Tax For Three Days

State lawmakers are considering suspending the state sales tax for three days in August. That break would be on items includes kids clothing, computers and school supplies.

The savings would essentially be three cents for every dollar spent.

Some parents say anything that helps out is a good thing in this economy. Critics say the measure will cost the state about 5 million dollars during a time when the state is having difficulty balancing the budget.
