A man is arrested on Friday after he drove through a resident’s yard and crashed into a parked car.

Fountain Police arrested 22-year-old Colorado Springs resident Robert Thayer after an accident in the 7300 block of Willow Dale Drive on Thursday.

Police say he went through the yard of a resident then crashed into a parked car. When officers arrived, they found Thayer in the driver’s seat and say he appeared to be unaware of his surroundings.

Officers found a large rock of cocaine in Thayer’s chest pocket. The cocaine weighed 2.5 grams and had a value of approximately $250.

Thayer was transported to Memorial Hospital and was later arrested and booked into CJC.

He is being charged with Driving Under the Influence of Drugs and Unlawful Posession of a Schedule II substance.
