Carrier Out Of Jail

A former Colorado Springs police officer now facing close to 200 charges of child porn and sexual assault on children is out of jail.

A spokesman for the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office said he received word of Joshua Carrier’s release Saturday morning but couldn’t say when he posted bond.

This summer a judge set bond at $500,000.

Carrier’s 196 counts are related to child sex abuse involving 21 victims and child pornography. Prosecutors said those abuse incidents occurred since 2009 when Carrier was a school resource officer and volunteer coach at Mann Middle School.

In October, Carrier pleaded not guilty to all charges. His trial is set for March 2012.
