3 arrested in connection with fatal shooting in San Luis

MGN

SAN LUIS, Colo. (KRDO) -- The Costilla County Sheriff's Office announced Friday that three men are facing charges in connection with the fatal shooting of a 47-year-old man that happened earlier this year in San Luis.

CCSO posted a news release saying that Josiah Medina, Tomas Espinoza, and Marcelo Gamboa are expected to be charged with conspiracy to commit first-degree murder for the death of Christopher Lopez.

We reported when Lopez was found dead in a home on Alfonso Street on Feb 3. Investigators said Lopez was found lying on the dining room floor with what appeared to be a gunshot. It's not yet clear what may have led to the shooting.

Medina and Espinoza were arrested on Thursday, according to CCSO, while Gamboa was already in custody for unrelated charges. All three are being held on $100,000 bonds. We've requested mugshots for them.
