USA Pro-Cycling Challenge
It?s been gone for 23 years, and it made a thunderous comeback. The USA pro cycling challenge in back in Colorado, but all business owners we interviewed in Old Colorado City said the event only hurt their business, badly.
?It was a zero day. I can show you the receipts where there was no business that day,? said Howard Walters owner of one business.
Another business owner, that didn?t want to be named, said she has made more sales during a blizzard.
Only one owner said she was happy to take the hit.
?In the big picture we were really grateful that the event was in our community because we think it brings the kind of clients, business and awareness that we want,? said Sarah Ray.
Christopher Jenkins with the Pike Peak Cycling Society said he was sorry to hear business owners in Old Colorado City did not see sales, but that as a whole, the event was positive for the local and state economy.
Colorado Springs has not secured a place as host city for next year, but it hopes to be chosen again.
