Colorado Springs organization makes beds for kids in need

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) -- "Sleep in Heavenly Peace," a local volunteer-based organization, is working to make sure no kid in the city is without a bed.

Denny Butts, the organization's president, says two to three percent of all kids in Colorado Springs are sleeping on the floor.

"Sleep in Heavenly Peace" builds beds from scratch in an effort to help families in need give their kids a bed to call their own.

Once the beds are completed, they're delivered right to the families' doorsteps.

Butts says all the work is worth it when the kids finally get their new beds.
