Pueblo man shot in the face drives himself to hospital; suspect arrested
PUEBLO, Colo. (KRDO) -- Pueblo police caught up with a driver speeding toward a hospital early Thursday morning and found that he had been shot in the face, and now the alleged shooter is in custody.
Police say they saw the vehicle going south on Lake Ave. at a high rate of speed. When the vehicle stopped at a hospital, the driver yelled for help and said he had been shot in the face. He had blood all over his face and hands, but he's expected to survive from his injuries.
Investigators found out the shooting happened near Sunset Park Elementary School when a vehicle approached the victim and a shooter opened fire. It's not clear if the victim and shooter knew each other beforehand.
Police were able to find several suspects on E. 5th Street, and 32-year-old Orlando Duran was identified as the shooter. Duran was booked into custody on a charge of attempted first-degree homicide.
Duran could be facing additional charges, according to police.
