Colorado State Patrol

MINERAL COUNTY, Colo. (KRDO) — The Colorado State Patrol is investigating a one vehicle rollover crash on Forest Service Road 503, 0.6 miles north of Creede. The driver has been hospitalized.

At about 1:54 p.m. Sunday, a black Toyota 4-Runner driven by 26-year-old Ridge Albright from Creede failed to negotiate a corner in the road.

The car fishtailed for 253 feet before running off the left side of the road down an embankment about 26 feet and hitting a boulder. The car then moved another 50 feet,  rolling 1 and 3/4 times, coming to rest in a creek on its side.

Albright was thrown from the vehicle during the crash and was flown to Mercy Hospital for serious injuries, according to Colorado State Patrol.

The two passengers in the crash, 29-year-old Cassandra Lamb from Key West, Florida and 26-year-old Austin McDonald 26 from Monte Vista, were both uninjured.
