Calhan go-kart track owner frustrated as current health order prohibits reopening

CALHAN, Colo. (KRDO) - The owner of one Motorsports company in eastern El Paso County has been going back and forth with the health department, wondering why other members-only businesses have been allowed back open, but not his.

Lee Seigel, the owner of SBR Motorsports Park in Calhan, he told KRDO in a phone call Wednesday that his park is now open for members only, despite recommendations from El Paso County public health department officials.

He said he's implementing social distancing measures, and requiring members to use their own gear.

Members we spoke to told us they're happy with the precautions in place there, and irritated that some golf courses and gun ranges were allowed to be open, but karting isn't allowed.
