Man forced to drive person from Castle Rock to Colorado Springs, police investigating kidnapping

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) -- The Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) says it is working with the Castle Rock Police Department to identify a kidnapping suspect.

According to police, officers were sent to the area of 2400 East Van Buren Street around 7:45 p.m. Thursday night, where they learned a man had been forced to drive the suspect down from Castle Rock to Colorado Springs.

CSPD says the victim was sitting in his car after work when the suspect walked up to his car, got in and then indicated he had a gun in his jacket. The suspect then demanded the victim drive him to Colorado Springs, and was dropped off at an area near East Van Buren Street.

According to officials, the suspect then left the car and walked away on foot. CSPD says they were unable to find the suspect at the time, and the victim was not injured.

Now, CSPD says they have worked with Castle Rock officials to identify a potential suspect, and gathered video about the incident.

Castle Rock police will continue the investigation, according to CSPD.
