A stormy week ahead with heavy widespread rain possible in Southern Colorado

Tonight we will see partly cloudy skies and breezy conditions for most area here in Southern Colorado. Expect lows in the mid to upper 50s. We do have a slight chance of a passing shower or two.

Monday is our day of transition when it comes to a changing weather pattern. We will see temperatures in the low 70s, but the clouds will be on the increase and our rain chances begin to return. We do have a chance of showers and thunderstorms late in the day.

Tuesday through Thursday will be the most active and wettest days of the week. A storm out west will enhance our chances since it will be pulling in tropical moisture from the remnants of Hurricane Polo. That will bring us a chance of showers and storms, with the possibility of heavy rain and Flash Flooding. The wet weather will also bring us cooler weather, with highs only in the 60s.

Some of the heaviest rain maybe along and south of the Highway 50 area, and out on the Eastern Plains. The track and speed of the storm will determine how much rain we get, but it does appear like we will have multiple rounds of heavy rain moving through.

Our rain chances start to decrease on Thursday with drier conditions moving in on Friday. Expect highs near 70 degrees.
