A historical look into Colorado’s brewmaking roots as state celebrates 150 years

GOLDEN, Colo. (KRDO) - The Coors Brewery has turned Clear Creek into cold beer for longer than Colorado has been a state. It's Colorado's oldest operational brewing site.

Monday, the week of Colorado's 150th birthday, KRDO13's Bradley Davis introduces us to brewery archivist Heidi Harris. She takes us back to the 1800s with a glimpse into the state's rise as a brewmaking powerhouse.

Harris walked Davis through some of the brewery's historical accomplishments, from winning a 1894 Chicago World's Fair medal to revolutionizing the beverage industry with its two-piece, recyclable aluminum can.
