Reckless driving and street racing: 19 Cited in Colorado Springs car meet

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) -- Colorado Springs Police Department says 19 people were cited after officers responded to reports of reckless driving and street racing in a large car meet near the 3100 block of Powers Boulevard. 

On June 20, officers say they received multiple calls about vehicles racing and driving recklessly at several locations in the area.

According to police, at approximately 11:09 p.m., officers located approximately 100 vehicles gathered in a parking lot. Police say they observed reckless driving and drinking in the parking lot.

19 individuals were cited for trespassing, and one traffic citation was issued, according to police.
