WEATHER ALERT: FRIGID TEMPS AND SLICK ROADS THROUGH TUESDAY
Snow will lighten up a bit after midnight but still continue intermittently for parts of the Pikes Peak region and southern Colorado through Tuesday morning and into the early afternoon. The morning commute will likely still be difficult with sub-freezing temperatures yielding slick travel for elevated surfaces and secondary roads as well as sub-zero wind chill readings making for dangerously cold conditions.
Winter Weather Advisories are in effect for the entirety of the Interstate 25 corridor in Colorado, with the advisories coming into effect at 2 p.m. in El Paso and Pueblo Counties.
TUESDAY: Skies will gradually clear out with hard freeze conditions expected again Tuesday night through Wed morning with single digits temps for lower elevations and some local mountain cities could dip below zero
EXTENDED: Wednesday and abundance of sunshine returns with temps in the 30's region-wide and by Thursday and Friday a rapid warming trend allow for temps back in the 40's and 50's for most areas
