Abandonded elementary school burns in Rocky Ford

ROCKY FORD, Colo. (KRDO) - An abandoned elementary school was burning Monday in Rocky Ford.

According to Rocky Ford Fire/Police Dispatch, the Liberty Elementary School building initially caught fire Sunday night around 8 p.m. but reignited Monday morning. Dispatch said transients have been seen in the building and it has been abandoned for some time.

As of this writing, it is unclear what started the fire.
