Grass fire threatens homes, shuts down roads
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) - The Colorado Springs Fire Department is fighting a grass fire at 901 N. 17th St. CSFD is advising people to avoid the area.
UPDATE AT 3:25 P.M.
The grass fire is now 80% contained. Fire crews are still putting out hot spots.
Apartments near the fire were not burnt by the grass fire and no residents were evacuated. In total two acres were charred by the fire.
The cause of the fire is still unknown at this time.
CSFD is reminding people that hot and dry conditions will continue throughout the weekend. According to the CSFD website, fire danger is high for Saturday.

CSFD PIO said in a post on Twitter/X, "Multiple apparatus are attacking the fire and assigned structure protection."
Multiple roads are closed in the area.
