Rollover crash on N. Union Blvd. sends driver to street

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) -- Colorado Springs police say the driver of a BMW sedan was seriously injured after being thrown from the car during a rollover crash on N. Union Boulevard late Thursday.

CSPD says the crash happened near Union and Montebello, and officers found the vehicle on its side near the right side of the road at about 10:40 p.m. The crash caused Union to be closed in both directions before reopening Friday morning.

The driver was thrown from the vehicle and was seriously injured. First responders took the person to the hospital to be treated for injuries, according to a police report.

Police say they suspect the driver was impaired, and excessive speed is also being considered a factor in the crash. The driver hasn't been identified.
