Citizen follows Kum & Go robber to Colorado Springs park
A citizen helped police by following a woman who robbed a Kum & Go store and guiding police to her location.
According to police, 36-year-old Crystal Jackson entered the Kum & Go store on South Nevada Ave. Thursday afternoon and threatened customers and employees with a gun, though one was not seen.
Jackson demanded money and ended up removing an undisclosed amount of cash from the register. She then left the convenience store on foot.
She was followed by a customer who helped guide officers to Dorchester Park. Officer then flooded the area and were able to take Jackson into custody six minutes after the robbery.
She was followed on foot by a customer who helped guide police officers to the female suspect near Dorchester Park. Due to the watchful eye of the witness who followed the robber, and the quick response by the CSPD officers who flooded the area immediately after the call, 36 year-old Crystal Jackson was detained by officers six minutes after the robbery. During the search of her person, several items of evidence linking her to the crime were collected by the officers. Also, she possessed methamphetamine. During a data search, she was found to have a felony arrest warrant.
