Severe storms possible along and east of I-25 – 7/5/19

TODAY: The day starts with sunshine and warm temperatures before things get pretty active this afternoon and evening.

Widely scattered storms are in the forecast after 1PM and they will move east through the late afternoon. Hail and high winds are the primary threats today, along with an isolated tornado. Highs will be in the 80s and 90s, with 70s in our mountain cities. Storms aren’t as likely over higher terrain areas today, and will mainly be contained to locations right along and east of I-25.

TONIGHT: A few storms linger over the eastern plains with drying skies closer to the mountains. A mix of clouds and clear skies are in the forecast tonight with lows in the 50s and 60s. Some upper 40s are likely over the mountains.

EXTENDED: The weekend looks wet, cool and stormy, especially on Saturday. Highs will only be topping off in the 60s, 70s and 80s. Most of the day looks like a washout. Less rain is in the extended for Sunday through Monday.
