Tonight: The scattered showers and thunderstorms that have been developing across the higher elevations for the better part of this afternoon are finally starting to approach I-25. The precipitation chances will diminish overnight with low temperatures down to 59 for Colorado Springs.
Monday: Partly cloudy skies turning mostly cloudy by late morning early afternoon. The heat wave that Colorado has been in the last four days finally moves on and temperatures return to average, low 80’s. Afternoon showers and thunderstorms again possible with the best chance for severe weather in the eastern Colorado Plains.
Extended: The diurnal cycle of morning sunshine, aiding in convective thunderstorm development by mid-afternoon will be a recurring theme this week. So for those trying to enjoy the 4th of July outside (like most people) make sure to keep an eye on the radar, as isolated to scattered thunderstorms will be possible. Along with intermittent sunshine between storms.
