Colorado Springs police search for wanted man near Prospect Lake

Colorado Springs police officers searched for a wanted man Wednesday morning near the intersection of Las Animas St. and El Paso St.

Officers were looking into an ongoing criminal investigation in the 700 block E. Rio Grande St. around 5:30 a.m. Wednesday.

Several suspects left the area on foot, at least one suspect is still outstanding and is described as an unknown race male.

There is heavy police activity in the area and citizens are asked to avoid the area around the intersection of Las Animas St. and El Paso St.

Police are asking the public to contact CSPD at 719-444-7000 if you notice any activity near the intersection of Las Animas St. and El Paso St.
