Explosives turned in to Pueblo Police Department

The Pueblo Police Department said that someone “turned in explosives” Wednesday afternoon.

Police said at about 4:30 p.m. that the threat was cleared and the situation had been handled.

According to PPD, the person was trying to do the right thing by bringing police the explosives. The department says people need to call officers to retrieve the explosives and not bring it in themselves.

Pueblo Metro Bomb Squad is leading the investigation.
