2 arrested for shooting at people delivering newspapers in Beulah
Two men are facing attempted murder charges after they tried to help a neighbor find a suspicious vehicle but ended up shooting at two people who were delivering newspapers in Beulah.
The Pueblo County Sheriff’s Office says a man reported seeing a vehicle drive up to his residence on Pine Street early Friday morning. He told investigators he had previously been the victim of a theft and thought the suspects were returning. He yelled at the vehicle when he heard shots fired, and that’s when the vehicle drove away, according to a news release.
That person told his neighbors, who then started driving around looking for the suspect vehicle.
Two neighbors, Henry and Theodore Thurman, saw what they thought was the suspicious vehicle and started firing shots at it. The driver was struck and had to drive himself to a fire station for medical assistance, according to the PCSO. He suffered non-life threatening injuries.
Investigators say that wasn’t the suspicious vehicle reported on Pine Street; the two occupants were delivering newspapers.
Theodore, 30, and Henry, 27, were arrested and face charges of attempted second-degree murder, menacing, and second-degree assault.
