One dead after shooting in north Colorado Springs, suspect at large
Police are looking for James W Hanlon after a man was fatally shot Wednesday outside his home in a neighborhood just east of UCCS.
As of Friday morning, the Colorado Springs Police Department report they believe Hanlon has left the state.
Police responded to the shooting in the 1900 block of Rimwood Dr. around 6:25 pm and found the victim dead.
Police say Hanlon is considered armed and dangerous. He is described as a white male, 53-years-old, 5’11” , 180 lbs., brown hair and blue eyes.
CSPD says Hanlon might be in a 2018 Toyota 4Runner (pictured below) with the CO licenses plate CCW619 .

As of Thursday afternoon, no details have been released on what might have led to the shooting. According to the El Paso County Property website, Hanlon owns a home on Rimwood .
Neighbors in the area said they heard gunshots. Many in the area say it is a very safe neighborhood with a low amount of crime.
One neighbor, Michelle Klein said, ” It was very unsettling. ”
While another neighbor, Brian Shute added, ” You get a break in, a car break-in or something like that every so often, but yeah it’s a pretty safe neighborhood. ”
