1 dead in crash east of Pueblo

The Colorado State Patrol is investigating a crash that happened Monday east of Pueblo on Highway 50.

According to CSP, Brett Martin was driving his sedan east on Highway 50 when he crossed over the divider lines into the westbound lane. Martin’s age hasn’t been given.

A Ford E-450 was driving west, and Martin’s car collided into it, CSP says. The truck flipped over one time and the car ended up spinning around 270 degrees.

Martin wasn’t wearing his seat belt, according to investigators. He was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash. The occupants inside the truck were injured, CSP said.

CSP says at this time, speed, alcohol and drug use aren’t considered to be contributing factors in the crash.

The crash was reported east of Avondale, near Boone. (MAP)
