Pueblo Co. Sheriff’s Office assists CBI and U.S. Marshals in arresting 3 wanted fugitives in 1 day
PUEBLO, Colo. (KRDO) - The Pueblo County Sheriff's Office (PCSO) assisted the Colorado Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and the U.S. Marshals Service in the arrest of three wanted fugitives during a busy day of law enforcement work Wednesday, Jan. 10.
According to the PCSO, the first arrest was of 35-year-old Justin Morris, who was wanted on warrants out of Fremont County and is also a person of interest in an investigation in Canon City. The PCSO assisted the CBI and Marshals in locating and arresting Morris at a home in Pueblo.
The second arrest came Wednesday afternoon when sheriff's deputies arrested 35-year-old Jordan Dazzio, who was wanted on warrants for several felony charges including vehicular homicide. The PCSO said Dazzio was arrested for vehicular homicide (DUI causing death), vehicular homicide (drove in reckless manner), two counts of vehicular assault, possession of a weapon by a previous offender, and DUI.
Later Wednesday afternoon, the PCSO assisted U.S. Marshals in arresting 45-year-old Bandy Nipps, who was wanted on a warrant for felony menacing. The sheriff's office said he was driving a stolen truck when he was contacted and arrested in eastern Pueblo County.
On top of all of this law enforcement activity, the PCSO along with the Federal Bureau of Prisons also searched the entire Pueblo County Jail and all 453 inmates on Wednesday. The sheriff's office said some contraband and damage to cells and equipment were discovered.
