ICE: Woman who attacked man in MAGA hat was in U.S. illegally

A woman who was charged with disorderly conduct after physically confronting a man in a “Make America Great Again” hat was in the country illegally, according to Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

The incident happened earlier this month at a restaurant in Falmouth, Massachusetts, which is near Cape Cod. Bryton Turner was recording video when Rosiane Santos walked by and knocked the MAGA hat off of Turner’s head and confronted him verbally, police confirmed to CBS 4 in Boston.

Turner said he was trying to eat his meal when Santos grabbed the hat.

Santos was taken into custody on a disorderly conduct charge. On Tuesday, a spokesperson with ICE confirmed that “deportation officers … arrested Rosiane Santos, an unlawfully present citizen of Brazil” near Falmouth.

She is facing the local charges for assault and other offenses, according to ICE, but she’s also been entered into removal proceedings in federal immigration courts.
