Woodland Park CDOT plows back up and running after shortage

Remnants of last Friday’s super-storm still linger in Woodland Park, snd after a bit of a hiccup last week, Teller County plows are back on the roads.

“Last week, we did have five plows being worked on.” Said Jesse Martinez, a highway maintenance supervisor with C-DOT.

Five out of six of Teller County’s plows were off the roads and in the shop during last week’s storm.

“Plowing snow and maintaining our state highways takes a great toll as far as stress and wear and tear on our vehicles and just like any other vehicle they do require time in the shop,” Martinez said.

But the deficit went fairly unnoticed to Teller County locals as C-DOT was able to call for backup equipment, bringing in two plows from Park County.

“Between Teller and Park County for C-DOT we have 36 pieces of snow removal equipment, and we can call at any time for that equipment to give us a hand,” said Martinez.

Now, the plows are back up and running.

“I still have two plows that are down for major repairs, but other than that I am at full capacity with 6 plows for Teller County,” said Martinez.
