Tracking hot day ahead, increasing storm chances tomorrow

Tracking...

TODAY: Tuesday will be a little hotter than Monday with temps topping off in the low 90s in Colorado Springs and high 90s in Pueblo. Expect triple digits in many areas across the plains. We're tracking isolated afternoon and evening showers and storms but severe weather chances look low.

TOMORROW: Temperatures cool substantially to the high 80s in Colorado Springs and low 90s in Pueblo. We're tracking increasing severe storm chances. We start with scattered storms across the mountains in the early afternoon before they push further east and strengthen along I-25 and across the plains. Our biggest concerns are flash flooding especially along burn scars, hail, gusty winds, and we cannot rule out tornadic activity which would likely be confined to the plains.

EXTENDED: Temperatures rebound to the low 90s in Colorado Springs and mid to high 90s in Pueblo Thursday through the weekend as storm chances become more isolated. Monsoonal moisture likely ramps back up next week.
