Weather Alert Day – 1/18/19

TODAY: We start the day off with quiet, mild and breezy weather, but rain and snow are right on the heels of it. Light rain and snow moves in following 9AM through the Pikes Peak Region and places along I-25. This picks up in coverage through the morning and into noon. Places above 7,000 feet still have the best chance of seeing all snow, with elevations below that dealing with wet snow and a rain snow mix. Roads in the mountains will likely be slick at times, and those around the Palmer Divide. Following sunset, this should change to all snow for a brief time before wrapping up. Places in Teller County and through the Palmer Divide will see a trace to 2″ with even less than that through Colorado Springs and Pueblo. The southern mountains could pick up areas near 3″.

TONIGHT: Partly cloudy and mostly dry. Chilly with overnight lows in the upper teens and low 20s. Roads could reamin icy in areas over the higher elevations.

EXTENDED: Mostly sunny to partly cloudy skies are in the forecast for this weekend with highs getting back into the 50s by Sunday. A little bit more snow is expected Monday night into Tuesday.
