Pueblo Police investigate death of man after being struck by train

The Pueblo Police Department is investigating the death of a male after a train accident which occurred October 30, 2018, around 3 p.m.

Police say the male was struck by the train just east of the Walmart located on 4200 Dillon Drive. When they arrived at the scene, officers say the man was still alive and trapped underneath the train.

First responders were able to free the man, but he was reported to have later died at a nearby hospital.

A train conductor says the man was laying across the train tracks as the train approached, the train was not able to be stopped.

The man’s identity has not been released at this time. The Pueblo Police Department Traffic Section is still investigating this case.
