Marty’s Saturday Morning Forecast – Warm & Sunny – 10/27/18
Today: Mostly sunny & warmer with high temperatures reaching the 70s for much of eastern Colorado, mainly 60s over our local mountain areas. There will be some pockets where the wind picks up at times during the day, but we don’t expect consistently strong wind gusts for most areas. A few areas may notice occasional wind gusts to around 25 mph, most likely over the far eastern plains or near the higher terrain to the west/southwest of Pueblo.
Tonight: Mostly clear and breezy at times with temperatures remaining pretty warm through about midnight. After midnight a cold front will bring a brief period of gusty wind to the plains, and after the cold front passes the air will cool into the 40s for the plains, mainly 30s over the mountains.
Extended: Sunday will be a cooler day for the plains, especially during the first half of the day. Temperatures will likely hover in the 50s and 60s around Colorado Springs and Pueblo for much of the afternoon. A few spots south of Pueblo could reach the 70s Sunday afternoon, and that may also happen around Denver. The mountains won’t have much change in the air temperature from Saturday with mainly 60s again. Monday looks windy and very warm everywhere with high temperatures in the 70s to lower 80s for the plains, mainly 60s over the mountains. Colder air will begin moving over the state Monday night and Tuesday with high temperatures falling into the 40s and 50s and a few rain showers possible over the plains; snow showers possible over the mountains. A stronger shot of cold air looks to move over the area just in time for Halloween (figures) with high temperatures in the 30s to lower 40s for the plains, 20s and 30s over the mountains. It also seems quite possible that more areas will see some snow. If you like the cold air then you’ll be happy to read that it appears the chilly air will stick around through the end of the week with periods of light rain and/or snow showers possible at times into early Friday. The following weekend we get to set the clock back an hour.
