10% containment reached on 400+acre Saint Charles Fire: Burn Ban enacted in Pueblo County

PUEBLO COUNTY, Colo. (KRDO) -- The Saint Charles fire, burning in Pueblo County and Custer County, has burned more than 300 acres.

Fire commanders released an interactive map of the evolving perimeter.

The latest update from the Pueblo County Sheriff's Office Thursday night said crews had achieved 10 percent containment on the fire.

Fire crews faced windy conditions Thursday with red flag warnings across southern Colorado for high winds and low moisture.

The PCSO announced a Burn Ban for the entire county Tuesday afternoon.

The PCSO said that after consulting with county fire chiefs, the ban was enacted because of the ongoing Saint Charles Fire.

Due to the significant number of resources being utilized to fight the fire, the Burn Ban will remain in place until there is "adequate control" of the fire, the sheriff's office said.

The Custer County Sheriff's Office has also enacted Stage 1 fire restrictions for Custer County.
