Heat wave continues – 06/27/18
Today: It’s a hot afternoon! Highs will range in the 90s and low 100s for the lower elevations with the 80s for the local mountains. We’ll be dealing with mostly sunny skies with a few more clouds this afternoon. This afternoon, we can’t rule out isolated storms. Some could be strong along and northeast of the Palmer Divide. The biggest ingredients involved with storms will be lightning and gusty winds. Fire danger remains elevated, but it will be more so tomorrow.
Tonight: Mostly clear skies are expected overnight. Lows drop to the 50s and 60s. It will still be comfortable overnight!
Extended: Temperatures will be close to records on Thursday! (Records: 98 in Colorado Springs and 105 in Pueblo.) Tomorrow, we’ll unfortunately be battling some fire danger. Fire Weather Watches are in place for tomorrow afternoon. We may need a Wind Alert Level One as well! Temperatures drop this upcoming weekend as cooler air works into southern Colorado. Storm chances increase this weekend, too. Fourth of July looks relatively quiet weather-wise with hot temperatures again!
