Man killed in motorcycle accident near Falcon identified

NEW INFORMATION: The Colorado State Patrol says the crash happened at around 9 a.m near Woodman Road and Golden Sage.

Troopers say Donald Danner, 80, was stopped at the red light on his motorcycle when Melanie Garcia, 45, failed to stop and rear ended him pushing him into the intersection.

Danner was ejected and was transported to Penrose Main where he died .

Troopers say he was wearing a helmet and charges for Garcia are pending.

UPDATE: As of 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, eastbound Woodmen Road is back open to traffic.

According to Colorado State Patrol, a fatal crash along Woodmen Road in El Paso County, has closed eastbound lanes at Mohawk Road.

Investigators tell us that an SUV collided with a motorcycle, near the intersection of Golden Sage and Woodmen. As of 10:45 a.m. on Saturday, the intersection was closed for for eastbound-southbound traffic.
