Marty’s Saturday Morning Forecast – Warm Again! – 6/23/18
Today: Partly cloudy and breezy at times this afternoon with very spotty thunderstorms possibly developing over parts of eastern Colorado. Any thunderstorms that develop today are likely to remain weak with most areas unlikely to receive much rain, but the strongest cells could produce brief downpours over the plains east of I-25. The air should be warm this afternoon with high temperature s in the 80s to lower 90s for the plains, mainly 70s for the mountains. The National Weather Service has issued a Red Flag Warning for the higher terrain to the southwest of Pueblo from noon until 9:00 PM
Tonight: Any spotty thunderstorms over the plains will end this evening, then partly cloudy tonight. Expect low temperatures to fall into the 50s and 60s for the plains, 40s over the mountains.
Extended: A cold front will kick up the wind and cool the air significantly on Sunday with temperatures in the 60s and 70s for much of the day. Thunderstorms will be more likely over our area Sunday as well with the best coverage of thunderstorms likely along and/or east of I-25. Severe weather may occur with any stronger cells over the plains Sunday afternoon with large hail and damaging wind gusts the primary threats. Starting Monday the air will dry out and start warming up again, and most of next week looks very warm and dry.
