Sizzling temperatures with isolated storms – 06/05/18

Today: Temperatures will be sizzling today! Highs will reach the 80s and 90s for the I-25 corridor with some triple digits in the eastern plains. Partly sunny skies will make temperatures feel even warmer. Temperatures will be roughly 15 degrees above-average! Pueblo could tie or beat the record high for today. While it will be hot and primarily dry, we won’t be dealing with strong winds. So even though fire danger will be elevated, it won’t be extreme enough to require any Red Flag Warnings. There’s a tiny chance for isolated storms today with a marginal risk of severe storms in the eastern plains. Even still, most dodge storms.

Tonight: Any storms wind down, giving way to mainly clear skies. Lows tumble to the 50s overnight. It should be quiet and mild into early Wednesday morning.

Extended: Temperatures will heat up *further* the next few days! It will be hot across southern Colorado, so find ways to stay cool and beat the heat. The next few days, we still have a small chance for strong-to-severe storms in the eastern plains. Elsewhere, the possibility for storms looks rather limited. This upcoming weekend will feature slightly cooler temperatures with a stray storms. Winds stay primarily light throughout your seven day forecast.
