Man shot by FBI agent in Denver offered free drinks for life
The man who was shot when a dancing FBI agent’s gun fell to the ground at a Denver distillery will be getting free shots for life.
The victim, who hasn’t been identified, is still recovering after being shot at Mile High Spirits Saturday night.
The FBI agent was seen on video performing a backflip in the middle of the dance. During the backflip, the gun fell from the agent’s waist; as the agent went to pick it up, it fired a single shot and struck the victim. The shooting is still under investigation and no charges have been filed as of Monday.
Mile High Spirits released a statement Monday questioning why the agent had a gun inside in the first place, saying it was in violation of their rules.
The distillery also reached out to the victim saying the entire staff is praying for the victim’s “quick recovery,” adding that he’s welcome to enjoy free drinks forever.
Here’s the statement from Mile High Spirits. The FBI still hasn’t issued a statement.
At Mile High Spirits, we pride ourselves on being a craft distillery with high quality products and an engaging customer experience, in a fun and safe atmosphere. It is shocking that the only shooting to ever occur at our establishment came about as a result of an FBI agent entering our distillery tasting room carrying a loaded firearm without our knowledge, in violation of our rules. As a result of his misconduct, one of our innocent patrons was shot. Our security team was able to execute a catastrophic event plan, ensuring, safe exit of all patrons in the establishment after the shooting. We are deeply saddened by the events that occurred and look forward to speaking with representatives of the FBI, so we can come to understand his presence and his need to be armed in our establishment. The whole team at Mile High Spirits is praying for the victim’s quick recovery, and he’s welcome at Mile High Spirits to enjoy complimentary drinks forever.
