Quiet Weather Tonight 5-16-18

TONIGHT: Quiet condition continue with mostly clear to partly cloudy skies overnight. Temperatures drop to the 40s and 50s by early tomorrow morning.

TOMORROW: Mostly sunny skies return with chances for severe storms mainly confined to the far Eastern Plains for the afternoon and evening. This will be our warmest day as highs climb to the 80s and 90s. Our mountain cities warm to the 70s. Fire danger also increases across the entire area with Red Flag Warnings in place for Custer, Huerfano and Las Animas counties from noon until 8 p.m.

EXTENDED: Fire danger is likely to continue for the same areas again on Friday. High temps will be a little cooler, in the 70s and 80s. Chances for showers and storms will be a little more numerous in most areas. There is also the possibility of some storms becoming severe with hail to the size of quarters and 60 mph wind gusts. Temps cool even further for the weekend with more chances to see rain and thunderstorms. Highs return to the 60s and 70s for most locations Saturday and Sunday. Our mountain cities cool to the 50s.
