Colorado driver license offices currently unable to issue licenses, permits and identification cards

As of Thursday afternoon, all state and county Colorado driver license offices are currently unable to issue driver licenses, instruction permits and identification cards.

Online services are also unavailable at this time.

The issue is due to the Social Security Online Verification System. The system allows the Division of Motor Vehicles to verify Social Security numbers in compliance with the Real ID Act.

The Colorado Department of Revenue says it’s working with its vendor partners to restore services as soon as possible.
