Pueblo police arrest man linked to three bank robberies

After a credit union in Pueblo was robbed early Thursday morning, police officers scoured the area to arrest their suspect, and it turns out he has a history of robbing banks.

An employee at the Power Credit Union on E. Evans Ave. ( MAP ) called the police and said a man passed a note to a teller demanding money. The suspect then fled on foot.

Pueblo police arrested 19-year-old Alejandro Saiz after he was found with cash and a robbery note near the bank. Police said Saiz didn’t have any weapons in his possession.

It’s not clear how the link was determined, but police said Saiz was connected to two other recent robberies, including one on March 19 at the U.S. Bank on North Market Plaza in Pueblo West and another one on March 31 at Academy Bank on Dillon Drive.

A full list of Saiz’s criminal charges wasn’t given.
