Fort Carson conducting live fire exercises through next week

FORT CARSON, Colo. (KRDO) -- The 3rd Armored Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division is conducting live-fire artillery training at Fort Carson that is expected to continue through Sept. 22, the Mountain Post said in a release Thursday.

According to Fort Carson, increased noise and dust should be expected including in the evening and throughout the night due to large-caliber training with live munitions. The post said the training is required to prepare the 3rd ABCT, 4th Inf. Div. soldiers for any potential mission they may be called upon to support around the globe. 

Fort Carson says it is dedicated to being good neighbors and will continue to inform the public about training events that may affect surrounding communities.
