Pueblo library district named best in nation

The people have spoken, and now the Pueblo City-County Library can boast the title of being the best public library in the nation after winning the 2018 Leslie B. Knope Award Monday.

Pueblo’s library district beat out more than 100 other public libraries and beat out Williamsburg Regional Library in the final showdown.

Pueblo won by getting the most votes in a Twitter poll and in general voting, though Williamsburg won the #LibrarySelfie portion of the final.

The award was sponsored by ELGL, which highlights organizations and individuals in local governments. The group also hosted a campaign for Best City Hall in 2017, and the Knope Award isn’t their only Parks and Recreation reference — they also composed the Chris Traeger List of the top 100 local government influencers.
