Woman airlifted following crash in El Paso County

According to Colorado State Patrol, Alma Montoya, 34, of Colorado Springs and two children are in the hospital following a crash on the east side of El Paso County on Tuesday night.

The call regarding the single-vehicle crash occurred at 6:12 p.m. It happened near Rush Road and Trogilo Road in Rush.

Montoya was driving southbound on South Rush Road when she lost control, causing the car to roll multiple times.

Four children ranging in age from 5-years-old to 12-years-old were in the car at the time of the crash and were all wearing seatbelts.

A 7-year-old boy and 11-year-old girl were not injured. A 5-year-old boy sustained moderate injuries and Montoya and a 12-year-old boy both sustained serious injuries. Those three were taken to Memorial Hospital.

CSP says alcohol is a contributing factor in the crash.
