Denver Hamilton tickets sell out fast – obviously
Maybe you’re one of the lucky ones — like one of our newscast producers — who snagged tickets to the Tony Award-winning musical Hamilton‘s Denver run, but tens of thousands who queued online for the sought-after passes at 10 a.m. Monday were left with only third-party options as of 3 p.m.
Lin-Manuel Miranda’s musical based on a biography of Alexander Hamilton is playing at the Buell Theatre from Feb. 27 to April 1, but it’s no surprise that a month’s worth of shows sold out in just a day — tickets for the show’s initial New York City performance would set you back either a hefty premium or a weeks-long wait, at best.
While tickets ranged from $75 to $165 (or $545 for the big wigs in the fancy seats), some listings for tickets in the thousand-dollar range have been posted for weeks on second-hand websites, though the Denver Center for the Performing Arts says those listings aren’t legitimate.
More information about the show can be found on the DCPA’s website here.
