Marty’s Sunday Morning Forecast – Colder & Windy! – 1/7/18
Today: Windy at times this morning with spotty rain and snow showers coming to an end. Some patchy fog may develop at times over the Palmer Divide early this morning as well. The wind will decrease some this afternoon, and most areas should become mostly sunny. All areas will be cooler today with high temperatures in the 40s to lower 50s on the plains, 30s and 40s over the mountains. Snow will also end over the high country, but blowing snow will keep roadways slick for much of the day.
Tonight: Mostly clear colder with low temperatures in the teens and 20s for most areas…
Extended: We will warm up again on Monday & Tuesday with high temperatures reaching the 50s and 60s for the plains, 40s and 50s over the mountains. The wind will increase Tuesday into Wednesday as another storm approaches the area. Snow will spread over the high country Tuesday night and Wednesday, and possibly over the plains Wednesday afternoon into Thursday. We’ll track the potential for a brief period of wind driven snow that could impact travel locally starting late Wednesday, especially on the terrain favored areas surrounding Colorado Springs and Pueblo. The air will turn sharply colder late Wednesday into Thursday with high temperatures only in the 30s and 40s Thursday afternoon. Friday looks to be windy & cool.
