Hoax bomb threat temporarily shuts down Colorado Springs Walmart

A hoax bomb threat forced an evacuation of a Colorado Springs Walmart on Wednesday.

KRDO first started getting reports on the Platte Walmart shutting down at around 3:30 p.m.

A viewer called saying Walmart employees told her to drop everything and leave the store immediately.

Other viewers claimed the store completely shut down and wouldn’t allow people to enter.

According to Colorado Springs police, store employees received the threat over the phone.

After a brief search by officers, the threat was determined unfounded, and people were allowed to go inside the store at around 3:45 p.m.

Authorities are also investigating a Walmart in Fountain where a similar threat was made on Wednesday afternoon.
